Ballet
This is the foundation in which all dance is based upon. A classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement. Ballet is a required class for all students taking jazz & modern.

Tap
To do a rhythmic and patterned succession of steps to music using special shoes that cause the steps to be audible.

Jazz
An energetic dance form that incorporates strong sharp movements and eye catching turns, leaps, and jumps, to up-tempo music. It is a style often seen in Broadway shows and movies.

Lyrical
This style is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. Lyrical dance challenges choreographers and dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer’s movement attempts to show the meaning of the music.

Modern
Movement that often stresses the expression of emotional intensity and contemporary subjects rather than focusing on the formal, classical, and often narrative aspects of ballet.

Hip Hop
This dance form is evolving in many different directions today, heavily influenced by the evolution of hip hop music.
Class Attire For Classes: For Girls: Leotard, Tights, Skirt (optional), Leather Ballet Slippers (satin slippers are not permitted), Black Tap Shoes. For Boys: T-Shirt, Shorts, Black Leather Ballet Slippers, Black Tap Shoes.
